I recently watched this. I’m not really into vampire movies, so I never bothered to see this one. However, I actually enjoyed it. Some of the blood scenes were pretty disgusting, but the action was good and the story was interesting. Hopefully the next two in the series won’t be letdowns.

Wait until you see the 2nd one. The DVD sound mix is excellent in Blade II.

Evertime I see the Blade movies it's bitter sweet for me. Not a bad adaptation at all but I keep thinking they could have been better. Don't get me wrong....I like the Blade movies and own them. It just seems like the series would bounce back and forth between dark comic book style to camp in a matter of a few scenes.

If I didn't know better, I swear Joel Schumacher directed some of the scenes in those movies. I wouldn't mind seeing a more serious reboot of the franchise sometime down the road a la Batman.
