During the 2026 NFL offseason, the Buffalo Bills have been a very interesting team for wide receiver trades. They acquired DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears, making a significant WR trade to help Josh Allen.

But they've also been strongly associated with trading away a receiver, most notably Keon Coleman, after he was awkwardly thrown under the bus following Sean McDermott's firing.

However, instead of Coleman, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox is urging the Bills to try and trade away $29 million veteran receiver Josh Palmer.

"After trading for DJ Moore and adding Skyler Bell in the draft, the Buffalo Bills could consider trading 2024 second-round pick Keon Coleman," Knox writes. "... though he's not the wide receiver Buffalo should be most eager to trade."

Instead of Coleman, Knox named Palmer, whose 2025 season after signing a three-year, $29 million contract, "left plenty to be desired."

By moving on from Palmer in a trade, the Bills could clear around $10 million in cap space. That's a lot of flexibility that could allow them to make a splash at the trade deadline, or allocate that money elsewhere on the roster.

Palmer, the 26-year-old receiver who was drafted in the third round by the Los Angeles Chargers back in 2021, probably won't have a robust market.

He caught 22 of 37 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games for the Bills last season, the worst year of his NFL career.

A change of scenery could do him well, and there are bound to be plenty of teams interested in adding to their WR room this August.

While it's hard to imagine they could get much of anything for him, being able to get out of his contract would be a very nice outcome.

Moore, Coleman, Bell, and Khalil Shakir are more than good enough to be the Bills' top-four WRs. Palmer doesn't really help much and would be more valuable to the Bills in a trade for a late-round draft pick.
