It's been a successful offseason for the Buffalo Bills and general manager Brandon Beane. The team was able to shrug off another conference title loss to bring in a plethora of quality free agents to improve the roster.
Then the 2025 draft came. Buffalo used six of their nine draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. The belief was that the team was already set on offense so they should focus on the defensive side instead.
While that was somewhat controversial to people around the league, many people still celebrated what the Bills were able to do over the last week in improving their roster.
NFL Media analyst Eric Edholm, in his latest power rankings list following the draft, ranked Buffalo as the fourth best team in the league - a clear sign that the Bills are still doing something right.
"The only reason I didn't mock CB Maxwell Hairston to Buffalo was because of his so-so tackling; everything else about him made sense to me there," said Edholm. "I thought the trade up for DT T.J. Sanders was a wee bit pricey; he was a prospect who left me wanting a little bit more when I watched, but I understand the purpose of the move. The overall focus on defense was obvious and needed."
Buffalo is never done trying to improve their roster. They hosted wide receiver Elijah Moore in for a visit on Monday in a way to bolster their offense.
But the fact they were able to make significant upgrades on the defensive side this season shows how good the team is expected to be in 2025.
