The 2025 NFL draft is just days away, and all 32 NFL teams, including the Chicago Bears, are finalizing their draft plans before things kick off in Green Bay.

Protecting your quarterback is one of the most important things in football. On the flip-side, getting to the opposing QB is equally as important for a defense. Units that can disrupt the offense of their opposition are often led by defensive linemen who can make the quarterback feel uncomfortable. A team can never have too many good pass rushers.

There will be some heavy emphasis on the defensive line in the draft, including some top interior linemen and edge rushers. Good players will be found on Day 1. And on Days 2 and 3, the teams with the best eye for talent will find hidden gems that can help their football team.

With that in mind, we're taking a look at the best defensive linemen and when they should be available between Days 1, 2 and 3.

Day 1

  • Abdul Carter - Penn State
  • Mason Graham - Michigan
  • Jalon Walker - Georgia
  • Mykel Williams - Georgia
  • Shemar Stewart - Texas A&M
  • Mike Green - Marshall

All of these players should go on day one. Abdul Carter and Mason Graham are likely going to be drafted in the top five. They are players who could redefine the pass rush of their new teams for a decade. After them, there is some serious talent in the first round, but it might take a while for them to get going. There might be a few more "day two" guys who climb into the first round, but these six should go for sure.

Day 2

  • Kenneth Grant - Michigan
  • Walter Nolen - Ole Miss
  • Donovan Ezeiruaku - Boston College
  • T.J. Sanders - South Carolina
  • Nic Scourton - Texas A&M
  • Landon Jackson - Arkansas
  • Alfred Collins - Texas

These day-two guys who could become day-one guys quickly should step in and help their teams right away. The best franchises will develop whoever they draft into stars by putting them in a position to succeed. There is a tad more certainty in this tier but there is always risk in the draft.

Day 3

  • Ty Robinson - Nebraska
  • Jamaree Caldwell - Oregon
  • Ashton Gillotte - Louisville
  • Tyler Batty - BYU
  • Josaiah Stewart - Michigan

This is where scouting comes in. You can find good pass rushers in the latter stages of the draft, as some fall due to overvaluing offensive skill positions. Any one of these guys can become an impactful player for teams if they decide to take a chance on them in day three.
