Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears are coming up on their second season together, and if it's anything like his debut with the team, the fanbase is in for a treat.

But, things aren't perfect in Chicago. Johnson made a few calls during the offseason that have raised eyebrows and made people ask, "What is he thinking?"

Don't doubt Johnson, though. Just look at last season. No. 1 in the NFC North. In the playoffs. Johnson totally turned this franchise around on a dime. But, that doesn't mean he's perfect, and one of his decisions is getting some pushback.

Ben Johnson and the Bears getting pushback on Garrett Bradbury trade

General manager Ryan Poles should get some slack for this decision, too. During the offseason, the Bears traded a 2027 fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots for Garrett Bradbury. Then, they picked center Logan Jones in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft. It seemed unnecessary at best.

In a feature out on Friday, Moe Moton of Bleacher Report questions this decision.

"Don't be surprised if the Bears bench Bradbury for Jones at some point in the upcoming campaign because of the veteran's pass-protection issues," he says. "According to Pro Football Focus, Bradbury didn't surrender a sack but allowed 20 pressures over 642 pass-blocking snaps last season."

He also notes that the Chicago Tribune's Sean Hammond thinks Jones is the team's "future at center."

"Well, the future at the position may play earlier than expected if Bradbury struggles to protect franchise quarterback Caleb Williams," Moton says.

So, while Johnson has earned the right to make some weird moves, this one could come back to bite him and Chicago. Or, it could prove to be a good move and silence the critics.
