Newcastle United would consider selling Nick Woltemade this summer if the right offer arrives, according to a report from talkSPORT’s Jack Johnson and Alex Crook.
The German striker joined the Magpies in August for £69 million from Stuttgart, replacing Alexander Isak after his record-breaking move to Liverpool.
The fee, which marked a club-record investment, seemed to be a reasonable one given Woltemade made an immediate impact during the opening months of the season.
He scored seven Premier League goals in his first 23 appearances, with all seven coming before the turn of the year. The 24-year-old also found the net in each of his first three home league games, matching a feat previously achieved by club greats.
However, Woltemade has not scored in seven league matches in 2026 and has not started any of Newcastle’s last four Premier League games. Yoane Wissa’s return to fitness and Woltemade’s dip in form have reduced his role in recent weeks.
Despite speculation that the forward is unsettled, Newcastle reportedly are not actively pushing him out, instead trying to slowly adapt him more to a False 9, No. 10 role within Eddie Howe’s system. The Magpies would obviously be open to listening to offers, as is their wont, but will only sanction a sale at a price that reflects their significant payment for the striker so recently.
Bayern Munich, who were interested before his move to England, are already seen as one of the leaders in the race to land the forward if he’s made available. The Bundesliga giants previously held talks but were unable to match Newcastle’s valuation last summer, the only thing keeping them from signing Woltemade.
