Another Midland College slugger is heading to the Horned Frogs. Freshman infielder Bammer Maes, who slashed .444/.550/.903 with 87 hits, 82 runs, 18 doubles, three triples, 22 home runs and 68 RBIs during the 2026 season, announced his commitment to TCU on Monday. Maes will reunite with catcher and Midland teammate Caleb Eager, who’s also set to join the Horned Frogs. Maes, who hails from McKinney, Texas, played in 60 games during his freshman season at Midland. He stole 12 bases, drew 45 walks and struck out just 17 times.


The commitment of Maes continues a run on position players for the Horned Frogs, who’ve added Eager as well as Flagler College outfielder/infielder George Gilson, Coastal Carolina infielder Trace Mazon and Mississippi State outfielder James Nunnallee. TCU has lost infielders Jack Bell and Kyuss Gargett to the transfer portal.
