There aren't too many teams in college baseball playing as well as the Alabama Crimson Tide at the moment.

With seven straight wins under their belts, including back-to-back weekend series sweeps of the Florida Gators and rival Auburn Tigers, the Crimson Tide (22-7 overall, 6-3 conference) are playing like the team many hoped they'd be entering the season.

Alabama has a roster that returned a lot of talent, none more so than shortstop Justin Lebron, who came into the season viewed as the potential No. 1 overall college player in this year's MLB Draft. After a few bumps and bruises that included a weekend sweep at Kentucky to open SEC play, the Tide have been on fire since.

A big test awaits Alabama when it ventures away from the friendly confines of Sewell-Thomas Stadium to face a top-15 Oklahoma Sooners team in Norman beginning Thursday.

But a big turnaround has already taken form. Alabama finished off a three-game sweep of Florida on March 22. The Gators, in turn, swept the sixth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks this past weekend at Baum-Walker Stadium in Fayetteville. It was the first time Arkansas had dropped a three-game home series since 2022.

Alabama's sweep of the Gators turned out to be only an appetizer when fifth-ranked Auburn visited Sewell-Thomas Stadium. With the Tigers armed with one of the best pitching staffs in the country, the Crimson Tide had to beat Auburn at its own game to win the series, and that's precisely what they did.

Alabama won back-to-back pitcher's duels, 3-1 on Saturday and 3-2 on Sunday for its first series sweep of the Tigers since 2017. The Crimson Tide rose to No. 16 in Monday's new USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Here's a look at where Alabama ranks in this week's top 25 rankings from The Athletic, D1 Baseball, Baseball America, and Perfect Game.

Baseball America ranks Alabama as top 10 team after 'statement' series vs Auburn

In Baseball America's new top 25 rankings Monday, the Crimson Tide saw a 12-spot jump in the polls to No. 10. Alabama is ranked one spot below Southern California and one spot ahead of Auburn.

"No team made a bigger statement than Alabama, sweeping previously No. 6 Auburn to finish the week a perfect 4-0. Alabama opened the series with Auburn run-ruling the Tigers 11-1 before winning two close games on Saturday and Sunday." --Baseball America.

Moreover, Baseball America named Alabama's Bryce Fowler its standout performer for the week and added:

"Fowler enjoyed a great week at the plate going 7-for-15 with a home run, a double, four runs and three RBIs. The Tide’s leadoff hitter and starting center fielder set the tone all week as Alabama captured a huge series win."

Alabama baseball sees significant rise in The Athletic's top 25 rankings

In college baseball analyst Mitch Light's top 25 rankings for The Athletic (subscription required), Alabama rose 11 spots to No. 12. The Crimson Tide placed one spot below West Virginia and one spot ahead of Auburn.

Light wrote:

"There was significant movement in the rankings this week due to some surprising outcomes. Arkansas dropped 12 spots from No. 5 to No. 17 after getting swept at home by Florida. That might seem a bit harsh, but Florida was unranked after getting swept the previous week at Alabama... Speaking of Alabama, the Tide jumped from No. 23 to No. 12 after sweeping then-No. 3 Auburn in Tuscaloosa. Auburn is now No. 13."

D1 Baseball, Perfect Game welcome Alabama into top 25 rankings

Alabama was unranked in last week's D1 Baseball Top 25 despite its sweep of Florida, but that changed Monday when Kendall Rogers and staff slid the Crimson Tide in at No. 16. Coach Rob Vaughn's team is one spot ahead of Arkansas and one spot below Oregon in the rankings.

Perfect Game also moved Alabama into its top 25. The Crimson Tide went from being unranked before their sweep of Auburn to No. 15, one spot below Coastal Carolina and one spot ahead of Florida.

Vincent Cervino and Craig Cozart of Perfect Game wrote:

"There was heavy fallout this week with many teams going winless, meaning that 20% of our poll is new from a week ago. The Alabama Crimson Tide (22-7) comes screaming into the poll at No. 15 this week after winning six SEC games in a row."
