Barcelona predicted lineup and team news vs Atletico Madrid

Barcelona will have a difficult task on its hands as they look to overturn a two-goal deficit from the Champions League quarter-final first leg as they meet Atletico Madrid away from home in the second leg in Tuesday.

This will be the sixth meeting between these two Spanish giants this season with Hansi Flick’s men winning thrice and Atletico winning the other two.

Barcelona are enjoying an excellent run in La Liga, sitting nine points clear at the top and riding a seven-game winning streak after their recent 4-1 victory over Espanyol. However, their European hopes have taken a blow following a 0-2 home loss to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League tie.

Barcelona team news

Hansi Flick faces a tough challenge for this decisive return fixture, with Raphinha and Andreas Christensen still out injured.

The defence is also short-handed after Pau Cubarsi’s suspension for his red card in the first leg. That means Eric Garcia will likely step in to partner with Ronald Araujo at centre-back.

There’s some good news, though — Marc Bernal and Gerard Martin could make the squad if they clear final medical checks.

Flick is expected to take an aggressive approach with a 4-3-3 formation, going all-out in attack to chase down the two-goal deficit.

Lamine Yamal’s creativity will be central to Barcelona’s game plan, while Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford aim to test Atletico’s back line early on and spark a possible comeback.

Barcelona predicted lineup

Possible Barcelona starting XI: J. Garcia; Kounde, Araujo, E. Garcia, Cancelo; Pedri, De Jong; Yamal, Lopez, Rashford; Lewandowski

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday, 14th April.

How to watch Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona?

Fans in the UK can watch the match live on TNT Sports 1 or stream it through the HBO Max app or website, which includes TNT Sports as part of its subscription.
