Spain boss Luis de la Fuente has named his latest squad for March friendlies against Serbia and Egypt and there are a few surprises.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been included, giving him a huge boost ahead of the World Cup this summer in the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Garcia did suffer an injury scare in midweek, going off in the Champions League win over Newcastle, but Barcelona have since confirmed all is well, and he’s now celebrating an international call-up.

The goalkeeper is in the squad along with Barca team-mates Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo.

Alejandro Balde misses out due to injury, while De la Fuente has also decided against calling up fit-again Gavi or Eric Garcia. Ander Barrenetxea, Cristhian Mosquera, and Víctor Muñoz also get their first Spain call-ups.

Here’s a look at the squad in full for the two games:

Goalkeepers: Unai Simon, David Raya, Joan Garcia, Alex Remiro.
Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Pedro Porro, Pau Cubarsí, Dean Huijsen, Aymeric Laporte, Marc Cucurella, Alejandro Grimaldo, Marcos Llorente, and Mosquera.
Midfielders: Rodri, Martin Zubimendi, Pedri, Fermín Lopez, Carlos Soler, Pablo Fornals.
Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Mikel Oyarzabal, Víctor Muñoz, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Borja Iglesias, Yeremy, Barrenetxea, Alex Baena.
