Barcelona are reportedly finally ready to open negotiations with Ferran Torres about a contract extension at Camp Nou.
The Spain star is out of contract in 2027 and Barcelona have so far been in no rush to discuss his future.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the plan had been to wait until September or October to talk about a new deal but Barca now want hold initial talks and get the process started.
The report adds that Barcelona are considering an extension for three or four more seasons. An agreement should be straightforward as Torres has regularly made it clear he does not want to leave.
Barcelona are currently in the process of revamping their attack for next season, something Hansi Flick said the club needed to do at the end of the season.
Barcelona have already waved goodbye to Robert Lewandowski and are in the market for a replacement. Julian Alvarez is the club’s top target but it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached.
The Catalans have already signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle but Marcus Rashford’s time at the club may be up, with reports claiming Barca won’t pay his buy option.
