On Tuesday Night, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield took a shot at Atlanta Falcons new head coach Kevin Stefanski, and welcomed him to the NFC South, where Mayfield can see him twice a year, and display his grudge that he holds against him in the form of wins, and a little trash talk, as Mayfield is prone to do.

Mayfield didn't take kindly to a post on X by an Atlanta-based reporter, who stated that the quarterbacks Stefanski had to work with in Cleveland never stuck. Mayfield felt like he was cast out of the Browns organization like a piece of "garbage."

"Failed is quite the reach, pal," Mayfield said, referencing a note from the reporter who said Mayfield and Deshaun Watson, who remains on the Browns’ roster, failed in Cleveland. "Still waiting on a text/call from [Stefanski] after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage. Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach."

In 2020, Mayfield helped lead the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs for the first time since 2002. It was Stefanski's first year as head coach in Cleveland.

Mayfield has found quite the home with the Bucs, but it is clear that the rivalry between NFC South foes has had a little more fire added to it. Kevin Stefanski was recently named the Atlanta Falcons head coach after the team fired Raheem Morris.
