There's no place like the internet, where you can get a petty back-and-forth between former NBA journeyman Austin Rivers and future hall-of-famer Draymond Green. And this thing is starting to get spicy.
After Green downplayed Rivers' 11-year career on a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, saying Doc Rivers signing Austin to the Clippers was "the biggest bailout in U.S. history," Rivers responded Tuesday.
And to think this all actually started with Steve Kerr.
It all started with Kerr's April 26 interview with the New Yorker, where the Golden State Warriors coach said this of Green: "He’s such a unique person. There’s things he’s done that I can never forgive him for, and yet I will do anything for him."
He was mostly complimentary, and Green responded on an April 29 episode of The Draymond Green Show by expressing similar sentiments. But then he said something that caught everyone's attention: "As much as he's done for me in basketball, a part of me thinks he hindered me in my career," Green said, pointing to the fact Kerr didn't draw up plays for him or allow him to develop offensively.
That's where Rivers comes in. He called the comment "ridiculous" when asked about it on the Dan Patrick Show. Green, as you might imagine, didn't take Rivers' response lightly and that's where this back-and-forth really took off. I'm guessing we'll hear from Green again before it's all said and done.

"The fact that you don't have the wherewithal to do your due diligence and actually understand I was being highly complimentary of you on the Dan Patrick Show -- but it's you and I shouldn't be surprised. You always act irrationally, emotionally immature, and your anger always puts you in hot water...
"Cut it out. Draymond, you're the backpack jump shooter. You're the guy that everyone leaves open. No one guards you."
