Auburn basketball legend Jared Harper added an illustrious piece of hardware to his trophy case this week. The point guard, who currently stars for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Basketball Premier League, was named the EuroCup MVP this week.

Harper set the single-season record for free throws attempted, made, and fouls drawn during a schedule in which he averaged 22.8 points and 5.7 assists per game. The Auburn alumni led all players in Performance Index Rating (27.2) and points per game, while finishing third in assist. He was the only player in the league to average more than 20 points per contest.

The former Tiger's scoring average was the highest by a player in the EuroCup since 2007, when hMilan Gurovic accumulated an utterly impressive 25.9 points for Crvena Zvezda Belgrade. He also became the eighth American-born player to win the award since its inception in 2009, although he did become Israel-based player the first to ever claim the trophy.

In three seasons as a Tiger, Jared Harper averaged 13.5 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game over three seasons. He was named to the Second Team-All-SEC Team in a junior season in which he helped lead Auburn to its first Final Four by averaging over 15 points per contest on 37% shooting from beyond the 3-point line.

The 27-year-old spent parts of three seasons in the NBA following his final season on the Plains, and has now found a home starring oversees for a Hapoel Jerusalem team looking to win the EuroCup Championship.
