Atalanta BC are ready to part ways with Newcastle United target Giorgio Scalvini, according to Tutto Atalanta. Eddie Howe is at St James’ Park

The 22-year-old Italy international has long featured prominently on Eddie Howe’s defensive shortlist. With Newcastle actively seeking a long-term central defensive partner for Sven Botman and aiming to lower the overall age profile of their backline, Scalvini’s distribution, aerial ability, and tactical flexibility make him an ideal fit.

While Atalanta previously insisted their academy graduate was not for sale, the Bergamo hierarchy has now softened its stance.
