Arsenal have been handed a UEFA fine following the use of fireworks during their away game against Bayer Leverkusen. The Gunners secured a crucial late draw in Germany thanks to a Kai Havertz penalty, which laid the foundations for a 2-0 victory in the return leg at the Emirates Stadium.
The fine amounts to €2,250 ($2,634). UEFA strictly prohibits supporters from using fireworks and flares during its competitions.
Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals, where they came up against and overcame Sporting Club de Portugal. The Gunners triumphed in Lisbon courtesy of yet another last-gasp Havertz strike, finishing off a superb assist from Gabriel Martinelli.

UEFA have also confirmed that the first-leg hosts have not escaped punishment. The sanction is related to the throwing of objects, according to Article 16(2)(b) DR, as per football.london.
Sporting CP have been handed a €2,750 (£2,382) penalty for the offence. Arsenal held firm to a 0-0 draw in the second leg, setting up a mouth-watering semi-final trip to the Spanish capital.
The Gunners face Atlético Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, before the return fixture in North London the following week. The tie is shaping up to be one of the standouts in the competition as Mikel Arteta and Diego Simeone prepare to pit their wits against one another.
This ensures that at least one club without a Champions League title to their name will feature in this season's showpiece final. Bayern Munich face Paris-Saint Germain in the other last-four encounter.
But long before then, Arsenal will look to get their Premier League title campaign back on track. The Gunners were leapfrogged by Manchester City on Wednesday, when Pep Guardiola's side beat Burnley 1-0 to not only take the lead on goals scored, with both sides on 70 points with a +37 goal differential.
In the process, City also sealed the Clarets' fate, sending them back down to the Championship as their relegation was confirmed, just days after Wolverhampton Wanderers were also relegated.
