Angel Reese’s “Bayou Barbie” is one of the WNBA star’s most recent off-court accolades, and what it symbolizes for her and her mom, Angel Webb Reese, is more than just a partnership — it’s representation.
Webb Reese shared what her daughter’s Barbie Signature Angel Reese Doll means to her and reflected on her first experience with a Barbie doll.
“Of course I do,” she told ScoopB.com last week when asked if she remembered her first Barbie doll. “It didn’t look like me. Yeah. That’s what I remember.”

Reese is only the second WNBA player in history and the first-ever Black WNBA player to have a Barbie doll. Previous WNBA stars to have a Barbie doll made to their likeness were Sue Bird and Rebecca Lobo.
The Atlanta Dream hosted Barbie Day on Aug. 3 as they faced the Las Vegas Aces at State Farm Arena. Fans were able to purchase Barbie-themed items ahead of the game.
Webb Reese shared her proud moment for her daughter as she reflected on her partnership with the toy giant. “Very cool. It’s like… so surreal. And I’m proud. It’s overwhelming. I get the joy out of seeing other little girls, you know, enjoy seeing a Barbie doll that looks like them and they can play with. So, a very proud moment.”
The Dream star also expressed what it means to have little girls be excited about the partnership.
“She’s [my mom’s] super excited,” Angel said. “She doesn’t show a lot of emotion, but when she does, you just know what it means to her. It’s just really cool to be able to see in the crowd all the little girls having them and me being able to sign them and give back.”
So far, Reese has held partnerships and worked with several large brands like PlayStation, Reese’s, Reebok, Raising Cane’s, Good American, and Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Last year, Reese made history as the first professional athlete to walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Fans interested in adding Reese’s Barbie doll to their collection can check major retailers including Target (in-store and online), Walmart, Amazon, and the Mattel Shop for more information.
