Alycia Baumgardner is getting center stage on April 17 and she has the opportunity to prove she is worthy of facing Amanda Serrano or Katie Taylor in a huge fight later in 2026. Standing in her way, the battle-tested Bo Mi Re Shin in a headliner fight for MVP Promotions' next all-female boxing event. Here's everything you need to know about the card.

When and Where Is Baumgardner vs. Shin?
The event takes place Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Doors open at 4:30 PM ET with the card starting at 5:00 PM ET.
The main card airs live on ESPN and the ESPN App. The preliminary card streams exclusively on the ESPN App. All bouts are contested under three-minute rounds with equal rules to men.
What's at Stake for Baumgardner?
The stakes for Baumgardner are as high as they have ever been for her in her career. While she has had big fights before, the payday and legacy fight that is likely on the line should she beat Shin outweighs the others before.
Baumgardner holds the unified WBA, IBF and WBO super featherweight titles along with The Ring belt. She wants Amanda Serrano (47-4-1, 31 KOs) or Katie Taylor (25-1, 6 KOs) next, telling The Ring a Serrano fight happens this year.
Who Is Bo Mi Re Shin?
Shin is not the kind of opponent most would suspect can stop or even defeat Baumgardner. However, this is boxing and oftentimes, funny things happen on the road to a superfight.
Shin is 19-3-3 with 10 KOs out of Seoul, South Korea, ranked WBA #4, IBF #6 and WBO #7 at 130. Her best showing was a majority decision loss to WBC lightweight champion Caroline Dubois in March 2025 at Royal Albert Hall, where one judge had it 95-95.
Why Does This Card Matter?
This card will be the first all-women's main card on ESPN. It's huge for the growth of the sport and Baumgardner is one of the true stars on the women's side.
MVPW-02 is also the inaugural U.S. event for MVPW, Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian's global platform for women's boxing. The co-main features unified super middleweight champion Shadasia Green, and unbeaten Tamm Thibeault faces Nadja Jesus at middleweight. The depth of this main card speaks to where the sport is headed.
