Logan Webb is heading into the MLB All-Star break as one of two San Francisco Giants players who won’t actually get a break.

Along with second baseman Luis Arraez, Webb will represent the Giants at the July 14 game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia — a rare moment to celebrate what has been a frustrating season in San Francisco.

Webb probably won’t be spending his down time in Philadelphia on social media. The 31-year-old pitcher, in a rare public display of frustration, went after a reporter for the team’s flagship radio station among a series of angry posts on his Twitter/X account July 8.

One day later, Webb deleted his account.

The beef began when KNBR’s Jack Loder posted a video criticizing the team’s lack of leadership amid a 38-54 start to a season that began with high expectations.

Webb responded to the video, writing “You know what’s sad is they allow people like you in the locker room.”

Instead of logging off, Webb kept going.

When Loder shared Webb’s response to his timeline, KNBR host Adam Copeland chirped back with a joke about Giants reliever Ryan Walker.

“Who are you?” Webb replied.

Instead of logging off, Webb kept going.

“I know what a a team of losers looks like because of that fandom and guess what? You guys have stooped to that level,” wrote the account @maloofgeorgie.

“Honestly you probably don’t know anything about anything some loser on the couch that couldn’t make his little league team,” the pitcher wrote in response.

The entire spat erupted after Webb allowed five runs to the first six batters he faced in the Giants’ 10-0 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 8. Like the game itself, it was quickly apparent Webb’s afternoon would not end well.

The posts are no longer visible on X, but were predictably saved in screenshots for perpetuity. At least they will give Webb something to talk about during All-Star Game media availability.
