Alabama gymnastics is heading back to the NCAA regional finals.
Alabama scored a 49.175 on the vault to open the meet, falling to third place. They rallied with a 49.525 on bar. That was followed with a 49.175 on beam. Alabama scored a 49.35 on floor with a score of 197.225. Gabby Gladieux was second in the all-around with a 39.475 and Chloe LaCoursiere was third with a 39.350.
The Crimson Tide has made it to the regional finals every year since 1982, outside of the COVID-19 cancelled 2020 championships.
The Crimson Tide will advance to the regional final in Corvallis, Oregon on Sunday, April 5. The meet will start at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN+. Utah advanced as well to the finals. The two teams await the top-two teams from the evening meet.
Rachel Rybicki struggled on floor, scoring just a 9.000. It was the Crimson Tide's lowest score of the meet on any apparatus and lowest by any gymnast. The Crimson Tide was able to make sure that they dropped that with a rally by the final four gymnasts. McKenzie Matters started it with a 9.875 followed by Azaraya Ra-Akbar's 9.9. Gladieux's 9.9 clinched Alabama being sent back to the regional final.

It's where the Crimson Tide has ranked second nationally and they scored above their average with a 49.525 in the rotation to vault into a tie for first. Paityn Walker, Ryan Fuller, LaCoursiere and Ra-Akbar all had above a 9.9 to pace Alabama with Gabby Gladieux scoring a 9.875.

Jamison Sears had the high score of 9.875 and two Alabama gymnasts — Kylee Kvamme and Azaraya Ra-Akbar — scored 9.775, keeping a low score. Alabama put themselves behind Oregon State. Alabama also pulled out a low score on the beam with a 49.175.
