PLATTSBURGH — Airborne Park Speedway is ready to celebrate Independence Day in a big way Thursday with an action-packed racing program followed by a firework display.
Fans will be treated to a full evening of high-speed excitement featuring the J&S Steel Sportsman Modified Firecracker 44, the 50-Lap Enduro, and racing for the Rain Pro Limited Sportsman, Renegades, Mini Stocks and Crown Vic's.
When the checkered flag falls, the celebration continues as the sky over Airborne Park Speedway comes alive with a fireworks show, starting at 9:45 p.m.
Grandstand gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing set to begin at 7 p.m.
General admission is $20 and kids 12 and under are free.
"We're excited to once again host one of the North Country's favorite Independence Day traditions," Airborne promoter Mike Bruno said. "From the Firecracker 44 and the wild and crazy Enduro to an incredible fireworks display, it's a night that truly has something for everyone.
"We invite families from throughout the region to join us for a fun-filled evening celebrating our nation's birthday."
Fans should arrive early to secure a seat for the fireworks.
