Advice I hope MHJ is getting from coaches

1. It’s ok to be an introvert off the field. It isn’t ok to be one on game day.
2. Your dad was a quiet guy, but he played in games like his life depended on it. You don’t
3. Having a legendary off-season work ethic is wonderful, but it doesn’t mean jack squat if it doesn’t transfer to games.
4. You may be bored in this offense, but dropping passes in your hands is inexcusable. Whether you get 1 or 20 targets, you catch the balls in your hands.
5. Your blocking is a joke. The play yesterday when Higgins caught the pass over the middle could have been a touchdown if you show any effort in blocking instead of just watching.
6. It’s ok to get in the huddle and demand the ball.
7. As the 4th overall pick, specially designed crossing routes shouldn’t be the only way you get separation.
8. Nabors, Odunze, Thomas, McMillan all play the game like dogs. You don’t and you won’t ever be great until you do.

I'm really not concerned with MHJ from yesterday. The offense moved well in the first half. After the 3rd Quarter TD to go up 27-3 with 10 minutes left in the 3rd we only touched the ball twice. The INT drive, where we were moving the ball well, and a 3 and out. The Panthers had two 14 play drives and then a 12 play drive in the second half. We had a huge lead and then forced the Panthers to bleed out the clock; the Panthers ran out of time at the end. If not for the onside kick, they wouldnt have had a chance to take a lead. Just a very bad game script for wide receiver stats.

You guys are acting like you drafted him in dynasty. I swear this thread wouldnt exist if MHJ had gotten Michael Wilson's TD.

I’m cool w all this aside from the bleed out the clock mentality.. it’s a terrible way to play unless you are down to the last 2 possessions in the game (as has been proved by our last 2 games and near heart attack it gave everyone).

There’s zero reason our team should have any confidence. We’ve done nothing but lose for the past 2 years.. finish dominant, give your weak points practice.. instill confidence. Don’t wear skirts in a league of killers

Nabers - 12
MHJ - 5.5

I honestly think Nabers would average 10 targets a game in our offense. MHJ looks improved, but Nabers is another Jamar Chase, just a completely different caliber of player. Nabers is open every play no matter what the defense does. If we had Nabers Kyler would just turn off his brain and chuck it to him the same way he did with Hopkins. No need to read the defense, just throw it to the playmaker.

Comparing MHJ to Nabers needs to stop for the sanity of everyone here. It's like when Broncos fans kept comparing Jerry Jeudy to CD Lamb.

For anyone curious, Jeudy's rookie year was eerily similar to MHJ's in terms of yards and targets. Jeudy was also seen as elite coming out, but mainly earned praise for his "crisp route running", had issues with contested catches and YAC. Jeudy is also a crossing route king like Marv. It turns out you can't be a top of the league receiver if you're only good at crossing routes.
