Josh Addison added to his penalty save in a pre-season shootout and against Jersey in May's Muratti Vase final [Fran Torode]

Josh Addison's penalty save helped Guernsey FC start the season with two wins from two games.

The Green Lions won 1-0 at East Grinstead Town in their first away match of the season.

The victory means the islanders are one of just four Southern Combination Premier Division teams to win their first two games of the season so far after a 3-0 win against Pagham on Saturday.

Will Fazakerley scored his second goal in as many games when he gave Guernsey a 14th minute lead from the penalty spot after Charlton Gauvain was brought down.

But East Grinstead had the chance to level from 12 yards just three minutes later when Jacques Cauvain fouled Ollie Starkey in the box.

But Charles Harris saw his penalty saved by Addison as the island goalkeeper continued his good form against spot kicks - he saved a penalty in a pre-season shootout against Leamington and in his Man of the Match performance as Guernsey beat Jersey in May's Muratti Vase final.

Guernsey were put under pressure by the hosts, especially after the break as Tegan Freeman and Harris went close.

Addison went on to make a final double save in the first minute of stoppage time as the Green Lions opened their campaign with back-to-back league wins for the second successive season.
