The Cincinnati Reds' minor-league players of the month for April are Hector Rodriguez and Jose Acuna, both of the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts.
Both players came to the Reds in a 2022 trade that sent outfielder Tyler Naquin and minor-league pitcher Phillip Diehl to the New York Mets.
Rodriguez, a 21-year-old outfielder who ranks 11th among MLB Pipeline's top Reds' prospects, was named player of the month after batting .354 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 21 games for the Lookouts.
Rodriguez is tied for the most hits in Double-A this season.
"He's a free-swinger," Fanduel Sports Network's Barry Larkin said during Saturday night's Reds-Nationals game. "Incredibly strong hands. Can run. Getting better defensively. He's good."
Acuna, 22, was named pitcher of the month after posting a 3-1 record and 2.25 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 24 innings over five starts.
