Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald is continuing to march toward a return after a formal tryout with the team.
Donald took part in practice, though it wasn’t for the team to evaluate; it was for him to see how he feels about stepping on the field.
At the age of 35 with years of wear on his body, Donald made the decision in 2023 to retire following another great season, ending his football career on a high note.
Despite Donald continuing to work out and stay in ridiculous shape, there was never much talk of him coming back.

However, everything changed once the Rams traded for another all-time defender in Myles Garrett. Soon, talk started to erupt about Donald coming back to play with another legend, forming an incredible pass-rushing duo.
Since then, things have progressed slowly, with Donald doing so much work at the Rams facility and teases from former teammates.
Donald did not show up to the start of training camp, and according to McVay, things will not change until the end of the first part.
“There won’t be any news on that front until we get back to Woodland Hills,” McVay said. “We’ve loosely had some different timelines that are kind of temporary.
“I want to keep those between us just if something unforeseen happens, out of respect for him and the situation. But I know this: Things are going in the right direction. And if there’s an arrow, it’s trending upwards.”

Garrett and the Rams are not going to push Donald into coming back; rather, they want to take on a hand-off approach until he decides.
“If he’s here, I’m going to be excited to be his teammate, his partner in crime,” Garrett said. “And I think we can do great things, but it’s a difficult thing coming back and I know he has a family. He has a lot of decisions to make.”
For the coming weeks, Donald is playing a waiting game, feeling himself out before going all in.
