Aaron Brewer cracks top-10 of interior offensive linemen ranking

As the offseason continues to trudge along, ESPN continues to release their rankings of all positions in the National Football League. Jeremy Fowler surveyed league executives, coaches and scouts to determine the top-10 at each spot, and in their latest release — interior offensive linemen — the Dolphins find themselves with a representative.


Dolphins newly paid starting center — Aaron Brewer — checks in at #10 on ESPN’s list. While slotting in as the 10th best interior offensive lineman in the league, he sits as the 3rd best center — coming in behind Creed Humphrey of the Kansas City Chiefs (#3) and Tyler Linderbaum of the Las Vegas Raiders (#8).


Here’s what ESPN had to say about Brewer:

Evaluators have marveled at Brewer’s development. One NFC scout recalled listing him at 6-foot-1, 274 pounds coming out of Texas State in 2020. Brewer went undrafted. Six years later, he became a second-team All-Pro and earned a three-year, $52.5 million extension. “Most underrated player in the league,” an NFC executive said. Added an NFL coordinator: “He’s very scheme specific — but his twitchiness and explosiveness are off the charts.”Brewer is not for everybody, though. “He’s good but accentuated by scheme, in my opinion,” a veteran NFL defensive coach said. “Athletic but not powerful.”

While Brewer has been a revelation for a Dolphins team desperately in need of stars after the departure of numerous key veterans this offseason, he still seems to be underrated by some around the league. Let’s hope Miami’s big-money man continues to prove the doubters wrong for many years to come while leading a revamped offensive line in South Florida.
