The Chargers signed former Commanders center Tyler Biadasz. He will replace recently retired Bradley Bozeman.

Here are five things to know about the newest member of the Chargers:

Tyler Biadasz was Near the Top At His Position

The 28-year-old posted an overall Pro Football Focus grade of 71.5 in the regular season, which ranked 11th among all centers with at least 800 snaps.

Biadasz was also 18th among qualified centers with a PFF pass-blocking grade of 67.1 and earned a run-blocking grade of 71.2, which ranked 12th at that position.

Tyler Biadasz is a Pro Bowler

He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2022 as an alternate for the Cowboys, where he started 16 games. Biadasz served as the anchor for the offensive line, earning a 70.7 overall PFF grade.

He also started in both of Dallas' playoff games that season, helping Dallas finish with a 12-5 record and reach the NFC Divisional Round.

Tyler Biadasz Won the Rimington Trophy in 2019

The center had a successful collegiate career in his home state of Wisconsin, where he won the Rimington Trophy in 2019. He became the program's first Rimington Trophy winner in school history, an award which is given to the best center in college football.

Biadasz was also just the second consensus First-Team All-America center in school history. As a three-year starter for the Badgers, he was the center in all 41 games of his career and served as the team captain in 2019.

Tyler Biadasz's Family Own a Dairy Farm

The Biadasz Dairy Farm, which was owned by the center's grandfather, is located in Amherst, Wisconsin and encompasses 1,000 acres of land. It is home to 850-900 head of cattle.

While Biadasz didn't live on the farm himself, he spent a lot of time working there. He credits his family's dairy farm for teaching him good work ethic.

"My grandpa showed me how to milk cows, feed calves, stack hay bales and clean up the barn," Biadasz said. "It's always a mess but you develop good memories and good work ethic."

Tyler Biadasz was Originally Recruited as a Defensive Lineman

Biadasz's football career began on the other side of the ball as a defensive lineman. During his high school career, he posted 232 tackles with 19 sacks, 11 forced fumbles and three touchdowns.

His strong performance in high school made him a three-star prospect by ESPN as a defensive lineman.

While he started his career by taking down quarterbacks, he'll now be protecting one of the best signal-callers in the league, Justin Herbert.
