49ers predicted trade return for Brandon Aiyuk might be best-case scenario originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles are both seeking out trades involving wide receivers who were big parts of their offenses in recent years.

However, there is a massive difference in the trade conversation around both A.J. Brown and Brandon Aiyuk. The 49ers WR is not fielding much interest, if any at all, in trade talks. But that doesn't mean the 49ers won't continue trying to trade Aiyuk.

Bleacher Report's Gary Davenport is predicting that the 49ers will actually find a trade involving Aiyuk with the Washington Commanders.

"Washington Commanders receive: WR Brandon Aiyuk, 2027 Round 6 pick. San Francisco 49ers receive: 2027 Round 5 pick," Davenport writes.

This trade return is a bit lackluster for the 49ers, but it actually might be the best-case scenario this offseason in any Aiyuk trade talks.

The 49ers waived the guarantees on Aiyuk's contract, and his off-the-field antics certainly make him someone most teams would avoid trading for.

But, at least for this prediction from Davenport, the 49ers get the Commanders to agree to a deal that will send Aiyuk and a sixth to Washington for a fifth-rounder.

This deal wouldn't give the 49ers an extra draft pick for Aiyuk, but this might be the best-case scenario for an Aiyuk trade. There is zero chance the 49ers could get a fifth-rounder on its own for Aiyuk.

So, being able to turn their own sixth-rounder into a fifth-rounder, which could be a massive difference in pick value depending on how the 49ers and Commanders play in 2026, it would be a huge win for John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan.

Not many teams would even have interest in the 28-year-old WR, but the Commanders are an obvious fit with Aiyuk's college teammate, Jayden Daniels, being the quarterback in Washington.

Finding any trade with Aiyuk would be a win, and this prediction might be about as good as it could get.
