Continuing with our series of "3 unanswered questions before training camp," we now take a look at the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins, who are in rebuilding mode, are now being referred to as "Green Bay South" due to bringing in a pair of Packers staffers as a new personnel executive and defensive coordinator. Will the operations change much in Miami during the rebuild? If so, it'll take some time. A changing of the guard has the Dolphins projected to finish dead last in the AFC East.
How will the Dolphins hold up with the new regime/new identity? They will go from the days of having speed on the edges to a more physical style of play. They will play a more smash-mouth kind of football that can travel well in cold-weather climates. We'll see how it is received soon enough.
Malik Willis got a huge contract for not playing much football at all. He fell in the 2022 NFL Draft; he didn't work out with the Tennessee Titans and sat behind Jordan Love in Green Bay until he got the shot that earned him the opportunity to lead a franchise. He will have to prove that he belongs rather quickly.
New coach Jeff Hafley got a shot to lead the Dolphins, but did not do well in college as a head coach after going 22-26 at Boston College without many resources. Escaping the NIL and having two years with the Green Bay Packers has its perks, but we shall see what he can do in Miami.
