The Los Angeles Rams have built a football team that is poised for a deep playoff run in 2026.

After falling short last season, the Rams entered this offseason with a clear plan and have executed it to a T. Los Angeles has the makings of a title team, and while they will rely heavily on their stars, they'll also need key contributors from the rest of the roster when their number is called.

Several players fit that description, including a handful entering the second season of their careers. The Rams' 2025 rookie class was relatively quiet last season, with most of those players making limited impacts on a week-to-week basis.

Much of that stemmed from the Rams' loaded roster; however, a few second-year players are poised to break out and become key contributors in 2026.

Here are three Rams sophomores who are ready to make a name for themselves.

3. Josaiah Stewart

Stewart was probably the best from the Rams 2025 rookie class, emerging as one of the league’s most efficent rookies edge rushers.

Last season, he appeared in all 17 games and recorded 22 total tackles, three sacks, and the highest pass-rush win rate (15.3%) among all rookie edge rushers.

Like many others on the Rams' defensive line, Stewart can benefit from the addition of Myles Garrett. On top of that, he is expected to see a significant jump in playing time as he learns from Garrett and Byron Young.

The 23-year-old had a total of 374 defensive snaps, accounting for 33 percent of the team's defensive snaps. That number is expected to increase, given the success he had when he was on the field and with another season of experience in Chris Shula’s defense.

2. Konata Mumpfield

Mumpfield is a player who can emerge in a big way. After a relatively quiet rookie season, the former Pittsburgh Panther has a great chance to establish himself as the WR3 for the Rams behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

Adams already made his pitch for Mumpfield in a recent Instagram story.

Last season, Mumpfield showed flashes of what he can become in this league.

Although he will need to win the WR3 job first, he has a great chance to do so. If that happens, the 23-year-old should make the most of his opportunities whenever Nacua or Adams are not targeted due to his technically refined route-running ability.

1. Terrance Ferguson

Ferguson didn’t get much run compared to his veteran counterparts, but he sure made the most of his opportunities in his rookie season.

The former Oregon Duck is poised to take a major leap in his sophomore season, as he is set to become a crucial piece in Sean McVay’s offense.

All signs point to Ferguson seeing a heavier dose of offensive targets after only recording 11 receptions on 25 targets.

The Rams' heavy use of 13 personnel will likely do wonders for the 23-year-old due to his athleticism. That will allow him to block in-line or stretch the field as a pseudo wide receiver, giving Matthew Stafford yet another weapon in this loaded offense.
