The New York Jets sent a significant portion of their contingent to the Miami Hurricanes' pro day on Monday. General manager Darren Mougey, head coach Aaron Glenn, and offensive coordinator Frank Reich were in attendance, according to Rich Cimini. The Hurricanes have a number of prospects in the 2026 NFL draft worth scouting closely.
We've identified three Miami players in particular the Jets were probably watching at pro day.
Miami's best prospect is EDGE Rueben Bain Jr. He's one of a handful of players the Jets are expected to consider selecting at No. 2 overall. Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese and Texas Tech EDGE David Bailey feel like the favorites, but Bain is a relentless pass rusher who generates power, and should still be considered by Mougey with the second pick.
Miami defensive back Keionte Scott was a showstopper. The versatile cornerback ran the 40-yard dash in roughly 4.33 seconds, a blazing-fast time. Scott also leaped a breathtaking 44-inch vertical. He's expected to play a nickel role, and is earning second-round grades from scouts.
Reich was seen having discussions with Miami quarterback Carson Beck. Most of the Hurricanes' prospects play defense, so it's relatively safe to assume Reich attended pro day specifically to watch and meet with Beck. He's among the mid-round options as the Jets weigh the future of their quarterback position.

Jets were well represented at the @CanesFootball pro day — Darren Mougey, Aaron Glenn and Frank Reich. Canes have several NFL prospects that might interest the #Jets, including DE Rueben Bain, Jr, DE Akheem Mesidor and QB Carson Beck. Tis the season.
