Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft kicks off in Pittsburgh at 7 p.m., with the Lions slated to pick next with the No. 50 overall pick, which is the 18th pick of the second round.
Detroit has just the one pick across the second and third rounds on Friday, barring a trade back into one of the rounds.
In the first round on Thursday, the Lions selected offensive tackle Blake Miller out of Clemson with the No. 17 overall pick, adding a right tackle who many project to be a plug-and-play starter who will fit with Dan Campbell's culture.
Former Southfield A&T star Caleb Banks, who played at Louisville and then Florida in college, got picked at No. 18 by the Minnesota Vikings.
Day 2 is also likely where a number of players from Michigan colleges start to get drafted, namely some players from Michigan and Michigan State. For the Wolverines, edge rushers Derrick Moore and Jaishawn Barham are potential players who could be selected today, and MSU center Matt Gulbin could well be selected on Friday.
As for Detroit's options on Day 2, a No. 2 pass rusher to pair with Aidan Hutchinson could be the choice at No. 50. There are a bevy of possible options still on board who might make it to 50, like Clemson's TJ Parker, Missouri's Zion Young or Illinois' Gabe Jacas could be potential picks for Detroit, as could one of the Michigan edge rushers.
