The Arizona Cardinals hold the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, just as they did in 2023. They are apparently trying to do what they did in 2023 as well.

It has been known for a bit that the Cardinals want to trade down.

SI.com's Albert Breer, in his newest MMQB column, named the Cardinals as one of several teams near the top of the draft wishing to trade down.

Per Breer, every team from picks No. 3 to No. 7 (the Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders) is looking to move down.

Ohio State EDGE/LB Arvell Reese and Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love are presumably the players teams would be willing to trade up for.

The Cardinals would reportedly like to draft a tackle, but they don't feel like any of the tackles are worth the third overall pick. Miami's Francis Mauigoa, Utah's Spencer Fano, Utah's Caleb Lomu and Georgia's Monroe Freeling are names to watch for the Cardinals if they do move back.

In 2023, when they could have drafted Will Anderson, now a premier pass rusher for the Houston Texans, they traded back from the third pick down to No. 12 and then back up to No. 6 to select tackle Paris Johnson.

Will history repeat itself?

Any deal will not happen until the Cardinals are on the clock, so we will wait for the next 10 days to see how things play out.
