The New York Jets have spent the past two offseasons reshaping their roster with a combination of experienced veterans and promising young talent. If the projected "Madden 27" ratings are any indication, two of the organization's biggest offseason additions have already earned plenty of respect.

According to projections shared by the Madden ratings website, linebacker Demario Davis is expected to receive a 90 overall rating, while safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is projected to check in at 89 overall. Both figures would place the veteran defenders among the highest-rated players in this year's game.

Neither rating should come as much of a surprise.

Davis continues to defy Father Time after another productive NFL season, remaining one of football's most instinctive linebackers and respected defensive leaders. His arrival gives the Jets another proven voice in the middle of the defense while strengthening one of the roster's deepest position groups.

Fitzpatrick brings an equally impressive resume. A multiple-time Pro Bowler and one of the league's premier ball-hawking safeties, he adds experience, versatility, and playmaking ability to a secondary expected to strengthen head coach Aaron Glenn's defense.

Of course, Madden ratings don't determine what happens on Sundays. Every season produces breakout stars, surprising disappointments, and players who quickly outperform their virtual counterparts.

Still, seeing Davis and Fitzpatrick projected among the game's elite serves as another reminder of what the Jets were trying to accomplish this offseason. They didn't simply add talented players. They added accomplished veterans capable of elevating the entire defense, both on the field and inside the locker room.
