The Los Angeles Lakers could be on the verge of reuniting LeBron James with one of his former championship teammates.
According to NBA insider Marc J. Spears, 18-year veteran Kevin Love could be joining James in L.A. this offseason, potentially bringing the longtime duo back together for another title run.
“I'm hearing that [LeBron's] likely coming back [to the Lakers]. ... Kevin Love could likely be joining the Lakers too,” Spears said on ESPN's NBA Today on Wednesday.
Love is set to enter his 19th NBA season after spending last season with a Utah Jazz team that was last in the Western Conference at 22–60.
At 37 years old, the veteran big man is no longer the All-Star force he was during his prime, but he continues to provide floor spacing, rebounding and invaluable locker room leadership.
Last season in Utah, Love played in 37 games (5 starts), averaging 16 minutes per contest.
He averaged 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 37.3% from beyond the three-point line (four 3-point attempts per game).

Love is perhaps best remembered for his four-year run alongside James in Cleveland.
Along with Kyrie Irving, the trio reached four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015 through 2018 and captured the 2016 NBA championship after overcoming a historic 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors.
Even after their time together ended, James and Love have remained close off the court, making the possibility of another reunion in L.A. an intriguing storyline heading into free agency.
Recently, James and Love, along with multiple teammates from their Cavs championship run, went on a golf trip in Scotland. Love posted lots of candid moments on the trip on his story, showing the reunion of players from their championship days in Cleveland.
The Lakers are expected to explore several roster upgrades as they continue building around James and Luka Dončić.
Frontcourt depth remains one of the team's biggest needs, and adding an experienced stretch forward like Love could provide another reliable option off the bench while bringing championship pedigree to the locker room.
Spears' comments also reinforce the growing belief that James is expected to remain with the Lakers despite speculation about his future.
