Training camp begins this week for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and there are still a number of notable free agents who remain available.
Could any of them be of interest to the Jaguars?
We saw last summer that GM James Gladstone is more than willing to constantly tweak his roster. Although it's important to note that this year's team is in a different spot than they were a year ago, with a heavy amount of turnover taking place in 2025 as Gladstone reshaped the roster in his vision.
That said, the Jaguars do have a few positions where an addition could be justified, but are those needs where the remaining free agent talent still exists?
ESPN's Matt Bowen has his recent ranking of the top 14 free agents still on the market. Here is a look at who's still out there and whether or not it makes sense for the Jaguars to consider making a signing.
What's the need? The Jaguars don't have a real need along the offensive line. All nine players who were on the 53-man roster last season are still under contract, plus the team added Emmanuel Pregnon in the draft.
What's the need? Wide receiver is arguably the deepest position group on the roster. Gladstone also made two additions in the NFL draft to round out this depth chart.
What's the need? This is one position where an addition would make sense. While Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker will lead the way, edge rusher is a heavily rotated position where depth is crucial, and the Jaguars are currently relying on a number of inexperienced players to take on those reps.
What's the need? There isn't a need at tight end for the Jaguars. Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol join Brenton Strange and Quintin Morris, while Hunter Long could be on the outside looking in during roster cutdowns.
What's the need? The Jaguars have to replace Devin Lloyd, but they have a number of options already on the roster to fill that starting role. This is a very crowded position group already, where some tough decisions could have to be made.
What's the need? The back end of the cornerback depth chart still has to shake out, but Christian Braswell and Jabbar Muhammad appear to be the front-runners for those final roster spots. At safety, five roster spots are seemingly accounted for already. I wouldn't anticipate an addition at either position.
