‘We don’t care’ – Dani Olmo responds after Argentina turn backs on Spain during World Cup trophy lift

Barcelona star Dani Olmo was in defiant mood after winning World Cup 2026 when asked about Argentina’s decision to turn their backs on Spain when they lifted the trophy in New York.

The defending champions did not take losing the game well, with Leandro Paredes spotted clashing with Eric Garcia and Gavi after the final whistle.

Argentina also made more waves as their players walked to other side of the pitch and had their backs turned when Spain lifted the World Cup trophy.

Olmo was asked about the incident afterwards but insisted it did not bother him in the slightest.

“We don’t care. What’s important are the values you want to transmit. We are an example for many generations, and I think they should be too. Now, we’re going to enjoy it,” he told reporters.

The Barcelona star was also caught up in more chaotic scenes after the game ended, with Argentina assistant coach Roberto Ayala caught on camera hitting Olmo as tensions spilled over after the final whistle.
