A.J. Brown’s name has made a lot of headlines over recent weeks since the New England Patriots’ training camp started.
Following his trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, the 29-year-old wide receiver has been involved in a competitive battle against cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
The CB1 in New England is on course to become the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history this offseason.
Gonzalez’s contract negotiations have not prevented him from practicing at full capacity this offseason, though.
Guarding Brown during training camp, tensions finally spilled over just the other day, with the pair having to be split up by their teammates.
Both players have now had their say on the scuffle, as Brown spoke to the media after Friday’s practice session to discuss the clash.

A.J. Brown aims subtle dig at Christian Gonzalez after New England Patriots scuffle
Eagles fans have been loving the Brown drama in New England this week, with fans suggesting there is already trouble in paradise.
However, this is a regular occurrence in training camps across the league given players are leaving it all out on the field.
“With me, he’s going a little bit more, I should say. With anyone else, he’s just real calm and relaxed, and it’s more fluid, you know? But it’s cool,” Brown said on Friday.
Patriots fans will claim this is just a case of iron sharpening iron and the competitive nature will only benefit the team in the long run.
However, Brown also admitted he feels the Patriots need to play against another team soon as “things have been close to spilling over between the offense and defense.”
Ironically, the Patriots will be facing the Eagles in a joint practice session later this month.
Brown said he isn’t looking for revenge against the Eagles, with his only objective to improve himself during the offseason.
Having seen how intense his battle with Gonzalez has got over recent days, it is not hard to imagine sparks could fly during the Eagles joint practice.
