    Can we talk about Okogie?

His on-ball defense is really disruptive and effective, as he tends to anticipate the ball-handler's moves and where the dribble ball drops on the court, to guide the opponent into hesitation mode. It's gamble in it and sometimes got the off. player a wide open path to basket, but often times he...

    5th Starter?

I went with Ross, based on reports about him. Craig is an emergency starter who can do a little of everything but nothing really good enough, just a poorman's Crowder. Ross is supposed to be an athletic and good perimeter defender, his career 3pt % is consistent, seems to be a more steady and...

How is Terrence Ross of a player? Fit the Suns need?

    2022-23 Around the NBA Thread

Cam's 3 was smooth in the 1st half and left him now in the 3rd qtr. Mikal has evolved into an excellent off. player, with great space feel and timing, getting a lot foul calls for his drives. and his defense is suffocating as usual. He will be the next Pippen.

Suns @ Pacers Friday game thread 2-10-2023

Okogie is again the player so far. The moment he was taken off the court at close to end of half, Haliburton felt confidence again, who then lost it when Oki was reinstated 30 sec. or so later. Damian is a smart player who knows his lack of 3pt touches and thus avoids it as much as possible. But...

Damion Lee has been missing open 3s for many games already, but Monty is stubborn to trust him with major roles and playing time.

Okogie brings another level of energy to game on both sides. His defense on Hali really disrupted Indy's offense greatly.

Suns updates and discussion for the 2022-23 season

Left this board 10 yrs ago and just coming back to watch NBA and my Suns again, is Barton good at D? I starts to dislike Craig taking huge minutes as he is really inefficient, almost useless on offense.

Not boxing out, got completely outworked by Capela, like he were Rodman.

Suns @ Hawks Thursday game thread 2-9-2023

Last 2min in the 3rd, they went away from their winning recipe of going through Saben and Okogie on offense, and to Damion for 3 bad shots and each time quick transition points by Hawks. Starting 4th, back to Saben and O, good things happen again. DA doesn't know to box out for rebounds and...

Damian and DA have bad dribbles and we again fall into the trap of having bad shooters missing wide open 3s.

Suns @ Hawks Thursday game thread 2-9-2023

Okogie posturing Collins! Revenge for Collins' earlier on on us. Sweet. Saben and Okogie have their shortcomings but also strength, in defense and dribble driving that opens offensive space. Saben just needs to be more confident. PS: we are in the game because of defense by Okogie, Saben and Ish...

Okogie and Saben with great energy and plays on both sides.

Okogie should be used this way of driving into paint to make something happen. They have big and athletic defenders, our 3s are all misses.

    The Durant Sweepstakes

I really do'nt trust CamJ can be much more than a rotation player with great shooting but average otherwise.

Suns @ Nets Tuesday game thread 2-7-2022

I understand why Monty made the substitutions in the final minute. With CamJ bad on D, Craig fumbling all the time on O, it just didn't pan out as

Off. decision making by Craig and CamJ was bad all game long. Glad we had DA there, and Paul and Bridges consistent as usual.

Paul can take on a Jason Kidd role the rest of his career and win a title like that. Very sharpt again directing the offense.

Suns @ Nets Tuesday game thread 2-7-2022

They need to communicate and be more alert about defensive coverage, when DA is drawn out to help on the perimeter. Otherwise, our O has been patient. Keep it up!

    The Durant Sweepstakes

It's hard to imagine KD is traded before deadline. So for the offseason, Suns could offer DA+Paul for KD+Simmons, to help them relieve of Simmons cap space sooner, so that they could start to rebuild with DA as the center piece right away, with loads of caps.

Suns @ Nets Tuesday game thread 2-7-2022

I guess the Nets would try one more run for the title with KD, given the Irvine trade. They still have a very good team with Claxton, KD, O'Neal, Dinwiddie, Simmons as the starters.

    The Ayton Plan

DA somehow doesn't bend his knees deep enough, the way all the euro players do including Doncic and our own Saric, so he can't head fake effectively to gain advantage close to basket. But his close and midrange shots are soft and deadly. And he can be a great facilitator playing two-man games...

Suns @ Pistons Saturday game thread 2-4-2023

He tried 3 times more in the closing min to change that, in vain though. Smart he didn't force it early in the game. And more importantly, Paul were much more active on D than usual, maybe as compensation for knowing lack of shooting tcuch to contribute more on the off. end. He has +24 for the game.

Suns @ Pistons Saturday game thread 2-4-2023

We won because we were disciplined on D, and Pistons didn't have clue how to break it. On offense we made great use of size advantage in the paint, and Paul directed offense every well despite his shooting being off. Great team win, with everybody playing his role well.
