    The Durant Sweepstakes

Pippen was way too good on offense for the comparison. Though I do think Mikal could be close defensively, but he needs to get stronger to get there.

Booker signs Super Max Extension - 2022 Offseason

Giving up Ayton makes me feel uneasy tbh. Of course you do it if doing so gives you a really good shot a title, but he might be an exceptional player when he reaches his peak.

Booker signs Super Max Extension - 2022 Offseason

Booker will improve into his late 20s (still only 25). That's not to say the improvements will necessarily be monumental, but he will be a better player 3-5 years from now than he is today.

Would you pay Kyler 45 mil if this is (basically) his peak?

As is I would probably pay him. He is already pretty darn good. As to comparing him to others after signing their first big contract, I would argue that Kyler is younger and less experienced than many of them were prior to their big contracts. Therefor I would like his chances of improving...

Would you pay Kyler 45 mil if this is (basically) his peak?

He is a young QB, with not a lot of college experience either and has improved every year of his career. I suspect we will continue to see him improve for at least the next couple seasons.

Would you pay Kyler 45 mil if this is (basically) his peak?

There is no way to consider what you would extend him for without taking into account likely improvement. Sure if it was a guarantee that he would never get better I wouldn't do it, but I assume that he will get better and therefore I would sign him to that.

    Suns Off-season Thread

It would be short sighted if they are only leaving for more money. Not necessarily short sighted if more money is only one of the reasons for moving on.

"Goin Hollywood" Hollywood Brown's youtube show

Really wanted Ceedee, but also really wanted Simmons.

    The Ayton Plan

So in other words he didn't get "Gobert'd" like was suggested. At least not by Luka.
  10. CardsSunsDbacks

    The Ayton Plan

The argument was that he was being abused on switches in that series and the numbers suggest that just isn't true. Holding Luka to 41% pretty much means he didn't get torched.

    The Ayton Plan

My issue with advanced defensive stats is that they take no account into just simply executing your role within the defense (how could they?). There is so much nuance in NBA defense that there is no accurate way to measure it with stats. For instance Luka regularly does well in advanced...

    Kyrie?

I was right there with you on Jackson. Seemed like a guy that could pretty much do everything you could need from a wing. I was open to the idea of drafting Doncic at the time, but was leaning towards Ayton because he seemed like the better fit and the more sure thing.

    Kyrie?

If we could swing it to get him for CP I would absolutely take it. Keeps us relevant and increases our chances in the post-season.

Why did Suns Collapse in Playoffs?

If by major changes you mean blowing up the core or trading away a part of the core than I don't necessarily agree. It all starts with what was going on with the team that caused the team to fall off at the end. If there is a truly detrimental personality amongst the core than absolutely that...

    Monty…

I think it's clear that Monty just doesn't trust or believe in Ayton's offense at this point. Realistically he should be making that a legit part of every game plan, especially when other guys don't have it going.
  16. CardsSunsDbacks

    The Ayton Plan

It's kind of a double edge sword. On the one side if he ever gets this under control he would likely have energy and effort more consistently. On the other side it shows some really bad decision making that he may never get over and will continue to be a disappointment.
  17. CardsSunsDbacks

    The Ayton Plan

This explains so much honestly. The man just has so many games where he inexplicably has zero energy. This makes that a lot less inexplicable.

This Team is About To Be Broken Up!

To be fair we also had one of the better records in the league when tied or behind going into the 4th. It is probably true that the team relied a little too much on the clutch this year, but it's not fair to say they were just front runners either.

    Mavericks @ Suns Sunday Playoff game thread, R2, 5-15-2022 - Game 7

You said it "sounds very stubborn", but the tweet is suggesting that they have counters and thus doesn't sound stubborn. Though I agree it is one thing for them to talk about having counters and actually seeing some on the court.

    Mavericks @ Suns Sunday Playoff game thread, R2, 5-15-2022 - Game 7

Isn't countering a literal opposite of being stubborn? It means you accept what your opponent is doing and will do something differently in order to still succeed. Obviously we haven't seen them do anything that has gotten CP going in 4 games now and that is what is specifically concerning.

The 2022 NBA Play-In Tournament + Playoffs Thread

There have been a lot of times people thought that before it happened. Obviously the odds are heavily against them, but a 40 point win is a hell of a way to build confidence for doing so.

    Suns @ Mavericks Thursday Playoff game thread, R2, 5-12-2022 - Game 6

As much as I hate the idea it would at least work on offense. LeBron is certainly more unselfish with the ball than Luka and obviously CP doesn’t really need to shoot all that much.

    Suns @ Mavericks Thursday Playoff game thread, R2, 5-12-2022 - Game 6

Yeah that’s more what I meant. As long as it fairly close and of course there will be a level of talking while your dominating as well.

    Suns @ Mavericks Thursday Playoff game thread, R2, 5-12-2022 - Game 6

I get the sense Booker is probably talking the whole game. That being said talking while you’re losing seems like a weird thing to do.

The 2022 NBA Play-In Tournament + Playoffs Thread

If you paid attention to the Grizz this year when Morant was out you would know that they might even play better without him. Their offense flows much better and they are probably even better defensively. That's not to say they are better long term without Morant, but they can be really...
