    DBacks and Royals Series Thread

^The D'backs have already gone through a handful of minor league outfielders. They have so many of them on the 25 man roster that they had to buy a minor league outfielder from the White Sox to fill out the roster in Reno. Andy Marte has lit it up at the plate the last three years in the...

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

The Pirates have hit 20% more batters than any other team in the league. That's indicative of a team pitching philosophy that the other 29 teams consider too dangerous. For a Pirates pitcher hitting a batter by accident is equivalent to hitting a pedestrian on a sidewalk. You don't hit him if...

    D-Backs and Pirates Series Thread

You are taught to raise an arm when sliding so you don't arch your back and bounce your head off the ground. Ahmed did exactly what he supposed to do on that play. He slid at the second baseman and slid high. The blame lies with the Pirates second baseman. The guy throws sidearm. If he...

    Got to be Sellers!

Arroyo is going to be on the injured reserve for the balance of his contract. Total lack of productivity made Cahill and Ross untradeable. But Cahill pitches better in the second half of the season so there is hope that he'll pitch well enough to be moved in the off season. As much as we...

    Parra traded to Milwaukee

I'm too lazy to detail my car. I have nothing to offer in exchange, but that obviously isn't an issue for Kevin Towers, maybe I can work out a deal with the D'backs! Parra hasn't been the same player since he ran into the wall at Citi Field last year. With Ross being untradeable, it was...

    Got to be Sellers!

The D'backs have been a .500 club post April. They've managed to be an average team despite having a decidedly below average rotation. LaRussa isn't running the team. Kevin Towers is still at the helm. LuRussa holds a supernumerary position. Theoretically, he is in charge of the baseball...

    DBacks and Tigers Series Thread

Does anyone here really believe that Kevin Towers could come out ahead if he dealt Martin Prado? The emergence of Peralta and Pollock has made one of the three veteran outfielders (Ross, Trumbo, Parra) expendable. Of the three Parra is the most appealing to other teams.

Time for Cahill to become a $12 million waste of a roster spot in the bullpen. And he can take Nuno with him.

    Dbacks and cubs series thread

Daniel Hudson is expected to join the bullpen later in the year. Pencil him into the 2015 rotation. After being shutdown with a sore elbow, Archie Bradley is back pitching. He really should have got the call up to replace Bolsinger, but the D'backs promised Cahill a return to the majors...

    Dbacks and cubs series thread

You'd like to see 6+ innings from a starter to cut down the innings worked by the bullpen. But getting five inning out of Cahill and still being in the game falls into the I'll take that category.

    Got to be Sellers!

Cahill is getting the start Friday against the Cubbies. His numbers in the minors haven't been stellar, but they need to showcase him for any faint hope that someone will have a major error in judgement and trade for him.

    The Last Ship

The premise had potential, but the writing would have had to be top notch to get a season's worth of episodes out of it. Unfortunately, the episodes leave you questioning if everybody involved in the production of this show is on drugs. Some shows are so bad that they are funny, but this...

D-Backs offer Tanaka six years and $120MM

Tanaka pitched once a week in Japan. The Yankees have been trying to ease him into the normal five day rotation. The outing against the Tribe was the first time Tanaka has been asked to pitch on four days rest twice in a row. And now the Yankees are waiting to see if he blew out his elbow.

Blown save #5 for Reed and #12 overall for the D'backs. Ziegler has four blown saves and that is without the added pressure of being the closer. Nonetheless, he and Reed should have their roles swapped. Evan Marshall was the best closer prospect in the organization. He hasn't...

    Got to be Sellers!

Baseball prospects has the D'backs payroll for next few years. Cahill is set to be the biggest earner at $12.2 million. Who knew A-ball paid so well? Miggy and Hill come in at $12 million, followed by Prado at $11 million, then Arroyo and Ross at $9.5 million.

Wow, paid the freakin' Yankees to take McCarthy and got a worse player in return. Forgot about drug testing the players, time to have Kevin Towers piss in a cup!

    Got to be Sellers!

Thatcher is a free agent after the season. The two players the D'backs received in this trade appear to be more minor league roster fillers than potential D'backs. F grade for this trade. Left handed relievers have value and the D'backs got nothing.

    Got to be Sellers!

Samardzija and Hammel from Cubs to A's for three prospects. Samardzija pitched great to start the season but was undermined by lack of run support. With the Cubs wanting prospects the D'backs shouldn't have been in play.

Former AZ Mistake Kevin Kolb Arrested for BWI

Kevin Kolb got squashed like a bug (literally) while playing for the Cardinals. His ribs detached from his sternum and he suffered a strained sternoclavicular joint. Until I googled it, I didn't know what a sternoclavicular joint is, I just knew it is something way up there on the list of...
