Arizona State vs. Duke in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, December 31st, 2025

I think you have to be enrolled and currently taking classes to be eligible to play. ASU is of course currently in between semesters.

    ASU Football 2025

That's a good question. I'm not sure... I really never hear that term applied to any college football program OTHER than ASU. Nobody ever says Stanford or Michigan State or North Carolina are "sleeping giants." Maybe North Carolina would qualify as they are a large state university program...

    Jalen Green 'Preciation Thread

Yeah, I have to wonder about the Suns trainers. This crap has been happening for years now, through a seeming multitude of players. Some other posters mentioned it in another thread and I'm inclined to start to wonder about the competency of the staff the Suns are employing. Is anyone here...

Suns @ Warriors Saturday game, December 20th, 2025

Seriously, the Suns can't afford to keep giving up games to guys being out with injuries. We seem to have an awful lot of bad luck with that, going back for years. It could be because of the incessant culture of "small ball" that seems to be part of the franchises identity that we can't seem...

    ASU Football 2025

As both a Michigan and ASU fan, this was a no losing proposition for me. I would have been happy with either outcome. Dillingham has his positives and negatives, but I suspect ASU needs him more than Michigan does. My only worry would be if he got too comfortable at ASU, and correspondingly...

Thursday Night Football - Rams @ Seahawks (6:15 PM) - Amazon

I guess Puka didn't get to do his antisemite dance or dedicate the win to his car thief brother. Too bad, so sad for him.

He would give us a legit PF to plug into next to Williams.

    NBA Expansion News & Draft

Adding Seattle and LV is going to make the league awfully western heavy. I would assume Memphis and probably NO are going to be headed east if/when it happens.

Never underestimate Crow's capacity for bleeping it up, though. He probably would prefer to spend the university's resources on expanding the lacrosse program and the chess club.

Raleek Brown has declared, too. That's an unfortunate loss, but less painful than losing him to the transfer portal, I guess.

I wonder what it would take to get him?

    ASU Football 2025

Yup, that's about my take on the current situation based on everything I'm seeing at various well informed outlets. It is probably down to Deboer, Dillingham, and Fisch at this point, unless Michigan has a hidden card.

    ASU Football 2025

I never said he stunk. I said his game is primarily built around a skill that's going to likely be significantly impacted by his injury. I also said it was likely to be better for ASU in the long run that they can start anew next year with the next QB they would eventually need to develop...

    ASU Football 2025

Not mad and not looking for warts that aren't as plain as the end of anyone's nose. If you can't see that Leavitt struggles as a dropback passer, I don't know what to tell you. His primary skills are running and passing out of a scramble, and he's likely to have trouble with that if he doesn't...

    ASU Football 2025

Did you watch Leavitt this year? With no Cam and the offense centered on him, he did not look very good, even prior to the injury. There are a lot of holes in his game.

The 2025-26 college football season thread.

Yeah, Deboer and Fisch being mentioned the most. Supposedly, Michigan knew about this weeks ago and already have a "handshake deal" with someone "big" and it just can't be announced yet. At least that's what some supposed "insider" is being quoted as saying. I don't know if there's anything to...

No, it was his admin assistant, actually. Not underage. The rumors currently going around about his arrest were that he broke into her house and threatened her. But there's another rumor that he threatened his own wife. Not sure what's the real story at this point since no official word has been...

The 2025-26 college football season thread.

As a Michigan fan, glad to be rid of him. He wasn't a very good OC or head coach. The program would have perpetually been underachieving as long he was in charge. He would likely have hung on like grim death through two or three more years of disappointing 7 or 8 win seasons. At least now they...

    ASU Football 2025

Yeah, it's probably for the best. It allows ASU to move on to developing someone else. And I really do believe he has topped out in terms of his potential and is going to be significantly less effective post Lisfranc surgery.

    ASU Football 2025

Leavitt really may not be all that great a loss. He has never been very adept as a dropback QB, and his skills as a scrambler are likely to be diminished by his foot injury. I would be very surprised if he flourishes wherever he ends up or ever sees the field in the NFL.

Suns @ Rockets Friday Game thread December 5th, 2025

Suns have been weathering the various injury setbacks heroically, up until tonight. There's just a point where you can't keep losing so many minutes from your better players and not have it cripple your team.

News from around the NBA 2025-2026

That's an interesting point. It would explain why we lose so much "player time" to sometimes what seem like relatively minor injuries. I'm not sure whether that's good or bad, as it has definitely negatively impacted the team's overall regular season success in recent years, and the potential...

News from around the NBA 2025-2026

I get that. But I mean even when teams do manage to assemble a lineup of big names in spite of that, the product on the floor never seems to be all that great (as we here know all too well).

News from around the NBA 2025-2026

I'm starting to believe that the "star strategy" doesn't really work anywhere, anymore. That Steph/KD team was the last time it really seems to have worked as expected. I'm not counting Lebron/AD because their championship was under flukey circumstances and they went south immediately after.
