Toy Story 5 Comes to Theaters in Summer 2026
It was revealed earlier this year that Pixar would create yet another installment in the beloved Toy Story franchise, and we finally have more details on the newest film. Toy Story 5 has a planned release date in 2026, with Andrew Stanton attached to write and direct the feature. While more details are still to come about the storyline, audiences learned at D23 that toys and modern tech devices will go head-to-head (and yes, Woody, Buzz, and the whole gang will return!).

Saw it yesterday with my kids. They loved it, and my wife was cracking up during it. I think it’s going to do well.
A lot of jokes about that actually
Really fantastic. It's Jessie's movie as much as the first 4 were Woody's movie. At times it is biting criticism about the amount of technology and how it has evolved families and friendship. As @Jersey Girl said, everyone's on their devices in separate rooms doing their own thing and missing things happening right in front of them.
It felt very much like Inside Out 2 with the dynamic of Jessie, Buzz, and Woody vs the new technology. Lilypad REALLY reminded me of Anxiety. The Pixar ripping your heart out comes late with Jessie, but when it does...yeah it hits hard.
Yeah it's going to rake. People were applauding at the end.

May not be needed, but Pixar continues to make very good Toy Story movies. This one was very Jessie-centric and was really well done.
