Stadium of Light and St. James Park???
Okay, so there might only be a few that know where these places are, but St. James Park is so much better than the Stadium of Light.
I am not saying anything other than the quality of the field but come on. That Stadium of Light is set aside from everything else and the closest thing is a company that is a Home Depot rip off called B&Q....
Now, St James is a great place. So much to do and see all within walking distance... Good times....
Sunderland is okay, but they need to make it to the priemership and then get a new stadium...
I will take my hate mail comments now....

No hate mail at all from here, man! Join the Newcastle United side, bro. The Magpies welcome you. We're on a run that should hopefully land us in Europe again next season, we're in the semi-finals of the FA cup, and we're very advanced in the UEFA cup currently. Good times!

A new stadium? The Stadium of Light opened in 1997! It has a capacity of 49,000 while SJP is around 52,000.
As far as the locations, I've never been to either so I can't say if one is better than the other. I'm sure Ben will be on shortly to set you straight.

Hey Renz, you have a division one team already in Sunderland. Why don't you take Newcastle as your Premiership one as well. You know, it can be like rooting for the Suns while still knowing your favorite team is the Gary Steelheads. http://www.steelheadshoops.com/

Oh no. It is state of the art and looks okay I guess, but it is out in the middle of an old dump I think. Nothing around it. Really kind of strange. You'd think that they would build some other related things around it....
Newcastle plays Portugal for the next game ( I think)...That should be good. I have a few friends from there and the live in Newcastle too. I cannot wait... I am just starting to get into this stuff here..

The stadium of light is a new ground (6 years old now i think), we used to play at Roker Park which was about a mile away, which had a record crowd of about 76000.
the site on the banks of the Wear was the best available that would fit with our needs (transport, parking etc) and i suppose cost as well.
There are plans and funding from Sport England in place to turn the area around the ground into a sporting village with an olympic swimming pool and hotels, casino's etc.
the skunks Sid James park is a lopsided pile of sh!te, with no space either side of it it has put the club under massive finacial obligations when fundung the upgarde of their old ground. - have you sat at the top of level 7 ??? take your telescope mate!
i also have to look at sid james through my office window all day and makes me feel sick
step into the my friend

Both stadium can be England national team's home.
But I think St James is a crowded place
When a tackle made by away team, all the fans stand up and boo.

Don't you think that it is so nice with so much city around it though? There is nothing to do before a game in Sunderland...

you make it sound like its lightyears away from anywhere !! its only about a 5 minute walk over the Wearmouth bridge to Sunderland City centre
but in actual city terms....Sundreland does lag behind culture wise

Yeah, the walk isn't bad. I did it the other today just to test it out as I was down there for work anyway...
I thought that I was going to get stabbed by the locals, but other than that it wasn't that bad....
Perhaps I will need to change my outlook...
I cannot wait for Thursday Newcaslte match though...
