I am wondering how some of you get sooo many losses?
Is it part of your startegy to pile up losses to get attacked more often?
If you pick your targets carefully you should almost never lose a fight when you attack on the same level.
Buy 2 Bone Daggers with your first 2 gold. Then don't buy anything. When you have 20 gold sell one dagger and buy a steel wakazishi (should be at the end of level 1 even without any citizens) buy another steel wakazishi with the next 20 gold.
Basically what you do is trying to win without buying every weapon upgrade. That way you will get much stronger weapons sooner.

alot of people attack undeads at low levels because their defense isn't that good - so alot of losses will happen

Yeah but Elfs, Orcs, Barbarians etc. I would consider it many losses when you have more than 10 during the first 3 levels already.

Well, sometimes, you just get randomly hit. The problem is, the more losses you have, the more people will attack you.
Also, being an Elf is good at the start if you don't want a lot of losses, I believe. I've been having good luck so far.

I am not too long into all of this but I have to agree. I had an Elf before and I had like 120-11 and more than half of the losses came from testing against higher level characters and the rest from being attacked by higher level characters.
And I never attacked someone on a level lower than mine.

Well, records don't really count...only experience.
That's why I choose the Undead character race. Everyone slags on the Undead (especially at level 0) for an easy win. If I can win 1 in 5 contests as the defender, it's just more "free" experience for me. Add to that some saavy attacks, I should raise through the ranks quite nicely.

By the way...
Tom Knight is now 24-1 in his last 25 fights (for a overall record of 51-57). The one loss came from a 3rd level Elf attacking him last night.
That will change soon as he has just hit level 2.
Let the onslaught begin!
