The PGA Tour's only regular-season team event begins on April 24 with the Zurich Classic, at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.
The two-player teams will play fourball in the first and third rounds and alternate shot in the second and fourth rounds.
Under a fourball format, each player completes the hole, and the best score goes to the team total.
In alternate shot, one player tees off, and his teammate hits the next shot until the hole is completed. They rotate until the hole is completed. Each player must hit the tee shot on half the holes.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry defeated Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer with a par on the first playoff hole after both teams finished 25-under-par 263. McIlroy and Lowry had to birdie the final hole in regulation to force the playoff.
The purse is $9.2 million.
The winners at TPC Louisiana will earn $1,329,400 each. The cut on April 25 will be to the low 33 teams, plus ties.
The amounts are for the individual on each team.
