You gotta feel for Gilmore

Gilmore is coming off a bad injury and even though reports are he is working hard and rehab is doing well, you have to see the reality facing Gilmore. The Cardinals still might sign M.Robinson, I still feel there is a good chance of it happening. McAddley was a draft pick that was forced into action and did well for a rookie, doubt he will be cut or put on the practice squad. Kasper didn't help with his strong performance after his chance to play and his experience he gained now with the Cardinals and the Broncos. Foster being picked up must have really put the icing on the cake for him after the drafting of Johnson as one of the first pick and Boldin who is full of potential and comes from a high-profile school like Johnson, you know Gilmore wants Boldin to turn out to be another Andre Cooper. Soliday is also another variable in his mind that has the same contract of a year like Gilmore.

At one time it all looked so nice, didn't Bryan. Boston, Sanders and Jenkins gone. Gilmore must be clinging to his #86 jersey with gripped white knuckles hoping that it doesn't become a number 19 or 18. Life isn't fair and a player like Gilmore is going to have to really push himself just to make this team. Oh, by the way, Bryan... the Cardinals just signed the Sooners #1 WR threat in Antwone Savage.

Gilmore will make this team and will at worst be the 4th WR IMO!

He has come very far and his speed is a sight to behold!

Except this kid Savage may break into the roster. If he can produce even moderately as WR but excel as a returner and on ST, he may nudge Kasper out of the way. If Johnson becomes the #2, I am 100% against him returning punts since he is a starter. I hate that philosophy because he can have a greater impact as WR than PR.

Even though MCAddley had a decent year last year (all things considered) I don't think he is a lock to make the team. Sullivan was very high on Gilmore publically and that may make a difference.

Even though I think they created a mess of a logjam at WR...there is nothing wrong with competition.

Let's see how training camp shakes out, but, I think Kasper is going to be a long shot to make the team....as upsetting as that statement will be to many on this board.

Honestly I think because we got 3 WR's in the draft that we may not opt to get a vetern any more since one was a 4-yr guy in Foster who played w/Sully in Detroit.

So More likely break down on the 6 players that stick will be:

McCaddley, Johnson, Gilmore, Kasper, Boldin, Foster.

I don't think we'll sign Robertson either. We really don't need him and his multi-million dollar salary. As far as a punt/KO returner, I thought that was the reason we got Foster. If he's used in that capacity for special teams play, will they consider him a WR and will that add to the number of people at that position that the Cards will keep?
