WR,For a 3rd Round pick????

Going to throw out 2 names at you that might fill the bill, tell me what you think???? How about Dez White in Chicago or Ron Dixon with the Giants..... compensation is a 3rd rounder for either.....Do you think either could be ready or has the potential to be a #1???????

I'm not worried about our WR's if we re-sign Sanders and Jenkins. I think the players are there to make for good competition at the WR spot. I don't think we're desperate enough to give a pick for either of those guys.

If you want a wr for a 3rd round pick...my suggestion...though not limited to...would be to draft one

Personally I like Kassim Osgood of San Diego State, big and can catch.. He ran a slow 40 yard, does anyone know if he was slightly injured at the combine?

But slow or not, he made big plays, is a possession type receiver who is 6'5. Because of his 40, you might even be able to get him lower like 4th or 5th

In the 6th,7th or udfa, I'd look at Shaun McDonald of asu, small, but is electrifying. Might be a good 3rd receiver(or 2nd). Although we are full of them. Still might be worth a late draft pick though.

Just a thought.

I'm intrigued by Tyrone Talico, Middle Tennessee State.

Sounds like another Terrell Owens to me (small school unknown, big time athletic ability).

Someone said I was crazy, but I would reach for him. He has the type of size/speed ratio that is amazing (6'2 220, 4.4 speed).

With those stats, he does intrigued me. You mentioned him earlier (a week ago?), and I looked at the combine stats. They were rather impressive.

Know anything about his hands, route running, or physique (a la boston?)

That said, I wouldn't be opposed.

Talico has been the hottest WR "sleeper" in the draft. He may be worth our 3rd rd pick. There is another WR from the Ivy League who might be worth considering.
Osgood will not be drafted on Day 1. Some guys can play "slow". Osgood can't.

We signed Garcia. While it would be nice to grab a C in the second, I say get Bryant, WR Penn State. This kid is going to have some impact. He gets surprisingly wide open and has damn good hands.

He (Bryant) would be worth a second rounder off the top of my head. I watched him a few times last year and was very impressed.

On Arnaz Battle from the Sporting News...
"Florida State's Anquan Boldin (4.65), North Carolina's Sam Aiken (4.65), Notre Dame's Arnaz Battle (4.75) and Illinois' Brandon Lloyd (4.65) were among the possible first-day receiver prospects who ran disappointing times."

There are QBs and DTs that run better than 4.75. I wouldn't want any part of a WR that is that slow.

Mark my words the best wide receiver in the draft this year after the 1st 3 will be Justin Gage from Missouri. He has decent speed, more athleticism than any other wide receiver ( he was the 6th man on Missouri's sweet sixteen basketball team last year). He has a 38 " vertical jump, and he will battle the entire game. I think that he has the ability to be the #1 wide receiver on the Cardinal team. And he may slip to the 3rd round just because of the wide receiver depth this year.

In regard to Faine, he is a Mcginnis guy, no quit, plays hurt....dominates anyone opposite him.... If he was there in the early 2nd Round pick and we want a starter at center from Draft, this is the kid.... He has a nasty streak.....I would take him if that is the spot we are looking at.....Never can be too good on either the offensive or defensive lines......... It's a reason I would like us to trade down out of our pick for maybe the Raiders two late 1st rounders.....Then with the 2 late 1st rounders select Faine and the best defensive player available at that point.... also with our 2nd round pick you could take a flyer on a QB if you wanted??? or another defensive..... Another ND guy to watch for this year is Shane Walton.... kid makes plays.... 3rd or 4th rounder if he lasts that long....... and Defensive End in 1 or 2 years out of ND Jason Tuck..... If he keeps his head on straight could be a bigtime player

More on Justin Gage from NFL Insider. They have him ranked as the 12th best receiver in the draft. " A big ( 6'4" 217 lb. ) fluid receiver that wins out in battles and can be a teams go to pass catcher.Gage was a 1st team All Big 12 receiver for 2 consecutive years where he set the record for most catches ever by a receiver. Gage's competitive spirit is off the charts.
