I feel we need to start with Petzing… he goes first. Then, hire the best OC possible and Bidwill needs to throw money at him to get the right guy. Depending on where we land in the draft, I position ourselves to rid ourselves of Murray (we will be drafting low enough to get one of the top 2 or 3 QBs). Keep Brissett to work with the OC and if Brissett falters, go with the young guy. This is a one year turnaround at most! The defense should be good enough to keep us competitive. If not, let JG go and promote the OC to HC.

I'm leaning towards just a new QB. We've got a guy back there you can't win anything significant with.
Obviously, it could be worse, but the standard should be playoffs.

Speaking of playoffs, let's look at Kyler's 1 playoff performance. It was embarrassing.
Yeah, but then if Gannon isn't the guy, you're stuck with him for several more seasons. It's not like he's an offensive guru. He's a defensive guy. He's not going to be a big positive to help a young QB.

IDK. If Gannon is as patient with a young QB as he is with Kyler...might be perfect.

Ultimately, I probably need to back out of this thread until much later in the season to determine who else other than Murray is gone after the season.

Fun fact, the Cardinals have not lost 5 in a row since 2012. And yes, Ken Whisenhunt was fired that year.

Another fun fact on this Friday, Steve Wilks didn’t even lose 5 in a row in what was one of the worst teams in NFL history!!!

And JG should wish K1 was playing because if he loses yet another game with a competent QB like JB, this ruins the narrative that he deserves another chance with a different QB. This is as must win as it gets for his HC career.

Kliff lost his last 7 in a row the year he was fired.

This week should still be a big week for Gannon, though.

Oh duh, you’re right, I actually posted that fact in a thread the other day…That was the season he got fired and K1 was lost to season ending injury.

I think I got mixed up because the idea I was trying to communicate is coaches don’t survive 5 game losing streaks, or at least they shouldn’t.

It’s not one play. Gannon was in charge of the offense that stopped scoring points after their first possession of the second quarter.

After the 10:43 mark in the second, the Cards got four first downs the rest of the game.
He’s also, ultimately, in charge of the offense that disastrously and inexplicably chose to try and burn clock on the north side of the two-minute warning v. Tennessee.

The team would have a winning record if they could finish games...the staff needs to be reviewed here. Why are they running out of gas, getting hurt, running out of plays, and crumbling on the Oline. Is change needed on the conditioning, offensive line, OC? I don't know if that change could even happen now even if we wanted it to; for various reasons, factors. It'll be up to the players to play better the rest of the season. Cincinnati upset Pittsburgh; so the Cards need to same vs. Green Bay.

I did not answer the poll. There are too many variables involved. If the rothers stays the course and Monti proceeds as usual and Kyler stays, then JG needs to go or at least the entire Offensive staff. If we go new QB, then I am willing to get JG stay, but I am still want to see offensive coaching changes.

I have a feeling Michael told Monti has 3 years of Kyler and if he doesn't take us back to the playoffs, he gets to pick his QB to see what he can do. It would be wild to see Kyler outlast JG and Monti.
He doesn’t outlast them. I think Murray’s departure is the most certain of all the potential changes.

Some of these factors are uncontrollable, but one thing seems clear to me. This roster is capable of being 5-0 with better coaching.
