Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese put together one of the most impressive rookie campaigns in recent memory last season after being selected in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft. The LSU product scored 13.6 points per contest for the Sky and also added a league-leading 13.1 rebounds per game.

Reese became a polarizing figure in her first professional season, as some fans admired her tenacity while playing, as well as her boldness with endeavors off the court. She was also heavily criticized, however, as some knocked her for her playing style, and others critiqued her bravado away from basketball.

The rookie class in the WNBA last year was stacked with talent, as Reese was not the only player to make her mark. Caitlin Clark was the obvious headliner, but others like the Sky's Kamilla Cardoso and the Los Angeles Sparks' Rickea Jackson had excellent rookie seasons as well.

Jackson was just featured as a guest on the Broadcast Boys' social media channels, and they asked her to make WNBA comparisons for star NBA players. When asked about Hall of Fame center Shaquille O'Neal, Jackson proposed that Angel Reese was a comparable player in the women's game.

This caused quite a stir among WNBA fans as they felt that Reese was not worthy of a comparison to O'Neal. Several commented below the post to voice their disagreements.

"Shaq to angel ," one fan commented.

"Did we just compare SHAQ to angel reese?" another fan questioned.

"Never let her compare again because what ???" added another.

"Shaq the most dominant big of all time, compared to angel, the one who shoots 30% on layups , cmonnn kea," a fan chimed in.

In terms of playing style, both are indeed hard-nosed bigs who can rebound and score in the paint at will. Reese is certainly off to an incredible start in her WNBA career, but fans acknowledged that it will take her several years until she can truly be held in the same breath as O'Neal.
